Wallowa Lake Irrigation District Board of Directors is made up of multi-generational farmers and ranchers who care deeply for Wallowa County and the future of its agriculture and natural resources.


Jesse Miller
Division 1
Jesse is a Small town 3rd generation farmer with an excitement for improving efficiencies on the farm. “I feel honored to be serving behind all of our fathers and building on their hard work and dedication to the water of this valley.”

Joe Dawson
Division 3, Secretary
Joe is a third generation farmer/rancher on both sides of family. Came home to manage farming/ranching operation in 2010 after graduating from Gonzaga University. Works with family and local partners to raise timothy and alfalfa, as well as angus beef cattle.

Dan Butterfield
Division 5, President
Dan, a fourth generation farmer, and his wife Lori own and operate Butterfield Farms Inc. located on upper Prairie Creek in Joseph, Oregon. The farm, along with wheat and cattle, specializes in producing three-tie Timothy and Alfalfa hay supplying foreign and domestic customers. Dan enjoys hobbies that include motorized sports, coaching girls basketball and entertaining his grandchildren.

Jay McFetridge
Division 2, Vice President
Jay McFetridge is a 5th generation hay and cattle producer on lower Prairie Creek.

Mark Butterfield
Division 4
We are fourth generation farmers, second on the land we farm. We are a family farm with myself, my wife and our two sons working the farm. We currently raise export Alfalfa and Timothy as well as cover crops to fatten steers.
